Eat here for $231. If you’re alone, that is

Alain Ducasse

Sophia Banay of Forbes magazine gives us a guided tour to the Most expensive restaurants in the world:

What’s the recipe for dining at one of the world’s most expensive restaurants? Months on a waiting list and Herculean wallet strength. Oh, and a healthy appetite. Top-notch restaurants have never been this good.

This is what she found in Paris:

Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée: Dinner For One: $231

The most recently opened of Alain Ducasse’s three restaurants, located in one of Paris’ grandest hotels, has only 50 seats and 55 restaurant staff. The mouth-watering highlight of the menu, the volaille de bresse, consists of boneless, free-range chicken specially raised in Burgundy. Before booking your flight to Paris, be warned: The restaurant is closed for a month each summer and in the days leading up to Christmas.

Bummer! Now I have to take my family somewhere else for Christmas…
