    The race to the Elysée

    This video is a TV commercial for a new range of Thomson GPSs. The subject is very topical, but you need some insight in the current French political situation. Here it goes:

    The man in the chauffeur-driven car is Nicolas Sarkozy, probable centre-right candidate for the French presidency. The woman on the bike is Ségolène Royal, the socialist candidate chasing the same top job. The Elysée is the French presidential palace.

    Their talking GPS gives them instructions, pointing Sarkzoy to the right and Royal to the left. At the end of the film they meet at… the Elysée.
