Minister: Bush could have been behind 9/11

Conspiracy theorists rejoice: French government minister Christine Boutin thinks Bush could have been behind the 9/11 attacks.

An embarrassing interview has emerged in which Christine Boutin, Minister of Housing and the City in Sarkozy's government answers the question "Could Bush has been behind the attacks?" with "I think it's possible."

The interview dates from November 2006, before she was appointed. Her arguments are, to say the least, weird. Here's a translation:

"I think it's possible. And I think it even more because the sites that discuss this issue are sites with high numbers of visitors. As I'm very sensitive to the issue of new information and communication technology, I'm saying to myself that these expressions by the masses and the people can't be without truth."

No doubt Boutin will claim that she was tricked, or that the quote is taken out of context, but this is not the first time she has been controversial. She has expressed herself against homosexuality, has been criticized for homophobia, and at one time waved a bible in the Assembly.

Come to think of it: that's very Bushist behavior.
