Hit by a bullet from 1.5km distance
A 60-year old man was seriously injured by a stray bullet, shot from a distance of at least 1.5km (1 mile). The man was quietly drinking a cup of coffee on his terrace, when he suddenly fell off his chair, hit by a bullet in his abdomen.
The police, quickly on the spot, also found five bullet holes in a nearby car, which proved that the gun was fired from across a local river. The shooter was identified as a 17-year old, in possession of a 22-caliber long rifle, found in his bedroom. The youngster has admitted to shooting at the car. The old man was apparently hit by a ricocheted bullet.
His life is not in danger, but his coffee is cold.
