French businessman forgets his wheel-clamped Maserati
A Frenchman, making big money in London, had completely forgotten that his Maserati was wheel-clamped three months ago. “I was too busy, and didn’t have time to pick up the car and pay the fine“, he claims.
He can call himself lucky. In most cases cars are destroyed if they haven’t been collected after two weeks, but the authorities made an exception for this “expensive and very rare car”.
The Frenchman doesn’t think the 5,000 pounds fine is high. “Having your car wheel-clamped for 25 pounds a day is relatively cheap compared to parking fees in London.”
And anyway, he runs an investment fund, which manages 170 million pounds, so money is hardly an issue.
