
During the days of the Muhammad cartoons, Nicolas Sarkozy went on record saying he would prefer “too many caricatures to an absence of caricature“.
That was before he got the French top job. Now, with his approval rates falling, and new cartoons ridiculing him every day, will he still think the same?

So is the 1st one just “Happy birthday” (Or whatever), or is it a reference too?
“bonne fête” means wish somebody happy returns.
In France, we wish “bonne fête” for christmas, birthday but more particulary for the name-day of mother’s/father’s/grandparent’s day.
But, in French, “te faire ta fête” means : to make misfortunes to somebody.
