France didn’t join Earth Day last weekend. Nearly 400 cities in 35 countries switched off the lights for an hour on 29 March, but the French kept them on. The little girl shown above was the exception. It’s a photoshopped version of Bouguereau’s original 1884 work La leçon difficile (The difficult lesson, view original). Next Earth Day: 28 March 2009.
