    Knife Fest

    fete du couteau.jpg

It may look a bit out of place after the spate of stabbings in Britain and a gruesome decapitation in Canada, but the French are celebrating the knife this weekend.

    Two views from the UK:

Knives are no crime (Bruno Waterfield of the Telegraph)

"London and other British cities will pulse to a different beat, the drum of hysteria, where moral panics over knife crime stalk the streets and haunt the headlines."

Celebrating the knife (Mark Easton of the BBC)

"Even in Sheffield where cutlery runs in the blood, it would be impossible to imagine such an event. The knife has become weaponised in Britain, stripped of all artistry and beauty."
