After the success of La Mome about the life of Edith Piaf, which gave France its first major Oscar for many decades, the national film industry is in uncontrollable biopic mode. After Piaf, we got the life stories of writer Françoise Sagan and comedian Coluche, and movies about actress Romy Schneider and Serge Gainsbourg are in the making. And of course, there’s Coco Chanel, who will be the subject of no less than three biopics. The biggest of them is likely to be Coco Avant Chanel, starring Audrey Tautou. Today, the first picture of Tautou in Coco mode has been released:

Personally, I’ve never been impressed with Tautou’s acting talent, but looking at this photo I can’t see how she will be able to be anything like the real Chanel:
