French History in a Nutshell
They don't write history books like these anymore. This is a page about Jeanne d'Arc from the 20's (click for bigger):
I like the summary best:
1. France was again the prey of the English
2. A daughter of the people, Jeanne d'Arc, gaven them all courage, freed Orléans, and chased the enemy of the kingdom
3. But she got captured, sold to the English, and burned alive in Rouen

Nice illustrations. Federal history textbooks from that age don't have nearly as good illustrations. I thought that was Tintin for a second!
