A few days ago a Paris exhibition of preserved corpses was ordered to close after a judge ruled it was an affront to the dignity of the human body. The court demanded the seizure of the human remains and discussions on their proper burial.
Thank God (literally) other preserved corpses in France are still allowed to remain on display. Some of them had actually been “buried properly” and were exhumed later, so the public could look at their remains. Here are three of them:
St. Bernadette Soubirous in Lourdes
St. Jean Vianney in Ars
St. Catherine Labouré in Paris
