French health warnings get graphic

Despite price hikes, scary warnings, and a smoking ban, France is losing the war against tobacco. The pics will appear on all cigarette packs by the end of the summer.

But it doesn’t stop there. Knowing that consistent policies are the backbone of credible governance, similar graphics will also be associated with other products that can cause bodily harm, such as alcohol, fat food, and even the sun. Wine labels will be decorated with pictures of liver cirrhosis, fast food and snacks will be packed in wrappers showing obese kids, and billboards with images of skin cancer will appear on all French beaches.

Or won’t they?
