Nearly melting away under the Paris sun: Obama "a little bit stiff" in wax
It's the compulsory honor for the rich and famous: being displayed in the Musée Grevin in Paris. Here is the faux Barack, together with real (or also fake?) body guards. In the museum he'll join other world leaders, like Nick Sarkozy, Angie Merkel and Johnny Hallyday.Sculptor Eric Saint Chaffray had never seen Obama in person. "The main difficulty is making it without meeting him, from press photos," he said as the statue was unveiled. Dressed in a dark suit, the wax statue of Obama looked very serious. "We're presenting Barack Obama at the Musee Grevin as part of a gathering of heads of state, which is why he has kind of an official attitude, a little bit stiff," Saint Chaffray said.
Stiffness seems to be a trademark of the French wax museum. Here's an old photo I posted a year ago on Frogsmoke:
