Have a break — but don’t stop the fight

From the useless statistics department: eight in ten French bicker while on holiday

More than eight in ten French (84%) have arguments with their other half or friends when they’re on holiday. For 53% the bickering starts early: 34% argue even before departure, 19% while on their way to the holiday destination.

The reasons for the verbal fights: the accommodation is the wrong choice (27%) or lousy (31%), and the journey sucks (62%).

Other figures: 22% of the French can’t forget their marital problems when they’re away from home. In fact they tend to get worse, helped by the fact that 11% of traveling companions indulge in promiscuity.

The good news is that the problems are forgotten when the holidays are over; 20% laugh about them, and 35% forgive their sparring partner for the arguments.
