New poll: the French think porn is better if you watch it together

Contrary to popular belief, adult movies are not men-only entertainment anymore. Porn is starting to be part of French sex life. “The availability of adult movies on cable TV and the Internet has lead to the democratization and normalization of the genre. The French have lost their complexes“, says one of the researchers of polling institute Ifop. “X-rated movies are now seen as a means to activate libido in marriage and break the routine, in all age groups and social categories.” The study reveals that X-rated movies are now more popular among couples (48%) than among singles (45%).

57% of respondents admit that they have already watched an adult movie as a couple, and 36% make love while watching porn. Despite the fact that 69% find porn exciting, a majority finds adult movies “ridiculous” (59%) and “degrading” (58%). Only 21% consider porn “healthy”. Also, regardless of age or sex, 84% of the French believe that sexuality presented in porn movies is far removed from common practice. “After all, it’s just cinema and has nothing to with reality.”
