Carla(t)'s Twin Sister
Carlat in France teams up with Bruni in Italy. And guess who's invited at the party?
European towns like to have twins in other countries. Usually the purpose is to organize cultural happenings between the two communities. In the case of Carlat (pronounced Carla, in the French Auvergne) it's more like a publicity stunt. After lengthy negotiations they sealed a twinning agreement with the Italian hamlet of Bruni. The official ceremony is scheduled for April (but not the first!) next year. The mayor of Carlat is now trying to warm the prima donna for a role as guest of honor.
The twin towns are slightly incompatible as far as their population is concerned. Carlat has 300 inhabitants, while Bruni has a headcount of just 29. The photo below represents 14% of its entire population.
