The French (and some foreign journalists) can’t stop talking about the Sarkozy cameo on the Simpsons (see here). But will the show actually ever appear on French TV? Remember the loi Evin which forbids any reference to tobacco or alcohol in advertising and public media. Well, Carlita is doing something very politically incorrect here — twice!
Double fault: puffing and boozing on TV
According to the softened new rules this scene can only be shown if
1. The subject is not linked with the tobacco business
2. The appearance has a cultural or artistic goal
3. The depicted person is fictitious or dead
One might argue that the animated Bruni is fictitious but will that hold up in court?
