The word hydropneumatique is not French for some nasty disease but refers to the ultracomfortable suspension system of the Citroën ID, which was a cheaper submodel of the Citroën DS.

The hydro-pneumatic suspension was to be found on all DS and IDs
The IDs were indeed cheaper because they lacked other items including the BVH gearbox and the hydro braking system although lots of things could have been added by pay for options
I have 2 one is actually a DS Pallas which is the top model barr the prestige which was a limousine version and an ID with a manual 5 speed gearbox
Lucky you!
