R.I.P. Chantal Sébire
Chantal Sébire, the woman who so desperately wanted to die, has been found dead at her home. Expect some lame words from politicians today — and hopefully some more humane legislation tomorrow.

I was wondering how this was going to end, have been following the story for a while now.. glad for all concerned that it’s over.
Sad state of affairs in France the whole euthanasia story…
The main problem is that it happens on a daily basis in france (unofficial figures even suggest more often than in switserland or the netherlands), but without guidelines and laws to keep it on even keel. (no pun intended)
Everybody (doctors, coroners, families) stick their head in the sand, and every so often a story like this breaks the news, to rekindle the debate.

I hope the politicians who do not support assisted and painless deaths for those for whom there remains no quality life and only suffering, die long lingering and painful death themselves. Alternatively they should live and watch a loved one go through it. If only the shoe was on their foot.
