Replica of Prehistoric Cave Friezes
After the success of the Lascaux replica, France has now created a copy of the spectacular “Lascaux of Sculptures” near the town of Angles-sur-l’Anglin, in the west of the country.
The original cave, discovered in 1950, has never been opened to the public for fear of damage. At the tune of 2.7 million euros, the facsimile displays exact copies of the 3-D buffaloes, horses, felines, and the legs of three female figures.
The photo shows part of the original 15,000-year old friezes.
