Star Fort Saint-Martin-de-Ré
The blogger on DeputyDog is fascinated with star forts, “humungous constructions that only really become visually stunning when you look down on them from above.” The one shown here is Saint-Martin-de-Ré, on the 32 km long Ré island lying between the Breton strait on the north and the Antioche strait on the south, closing the roadstead of the Basques.
