No-Spank Day

smacking.jpg
If you want to beat up exercise corporal correction on your kids you should do it today or wait two days, because tomorrow (Wednesday 30 April) is the national “Journée de la non-violence éducative” in France.

Parents are kindly requested to take it easy on their children, and use words rather than hands to correct bad behavior.

As I reported earlier on Frogsmoke, French parents believe a good bit of spanking is not bad at all. While the practice is illegal in Sweden, and the European Council promotes a zero tolerance towards the habit, the French refuse any state intervention in the way they educate their children. Spanking doesn’t make parents proud, but 77% believe it’s part of a child’s upbringing.

So tomorrow will be a challenging day for French papas and mamans.

And a field day for their little monsters.
