The French donor system is a bit complicated, it’s an “opt-out”, but they consult family if you don’t have a donor card, if you want to become a donor and spend a reasonable amount of time in France, I would advice to carry a donor card in your wallet. See http://www.france-adot.org/ for more info. (in French) It saves precious time in an already complicated situation.
