Beethoven Makes Better Grapes

Thank you for the music:

A wine grower in the Alsace has started playing music in his vineyards, and claims that Brahms, Beethoven and Mozart make his grapes more aromatic. His Gewürtztraminer grapes are forced to endure burst of two to three minutes of classical music.

Thanks to the music, the vine leaves fall later than in surrounding vines, which increases the levels of sugar, and hence the aroma. “You can see my leaves from miles away“, he claims.

His colleagues thinks he’s a bit of a nutter, but our Alsatian doesn’t care. Next year, he plans to produce a special “Melodie du bonheur” (melody of happiness) wine.

I suppose if you drink enough of the stuff you may hear Beethoven banging inside your head for days.
