In the country that gave you the pantyhose for men, one man is fighting a battle for the skirt for men.
It's all about democracy and the equality of the sexes. If girls can wear trousers (or pants for you Americans), then boys should be able to wear skirts.
The Hommes en jupe site (www.i-hej.com) was started in 2005, and led to the same-name association in 2007. According to their president, Dominique Moreau, "skirts are better adapted to the male body than trousers, which squeeze the delicate parts." Being a father of a little daughter, he also emphasizes that "a man who wants to wear skirts is not necessarily gay. The goal is not to look like a girl — the skirt must remain masculine."
Since foreign sites sell skirts for men at prohibitive prices, the prez has now started sewing his own, complete with pockets and an opening at the front.
