A French artist who wants to remain anonymous uses Rubik’s cubes to recreate images of the ancient Space Invaders computer game.

On his website he explains: “Nobody knows my face because I appear always hidden. Some say I am a polluter, others that I am an artist. Personally I consider myself an invader!”

Why does he use Rubik’s cubes?
“I think it’s a logical development of my work. Like Space Invaders, this is a game designed in the 80s. The Rubik Cube is a fascinating subject as it is at the same time very simple and very complex. In my case, I use the Rubik’s cube like a painter uses paint. I like the idea of diverting the use of this object, especially since it works very well.”
