Cahors wine: best cure for swine flu?
If the zoo keepers in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, can be believed there's nothing better to keep the local monkeys safe from the H1N1 virus than French Cahors wine.
Strange as it may sound, Cahors has a good reputation in Russia. Emperor Peter I drank Cahors (Russian: кагор) and the Russian Orthodox Church adopted it as the sacramental wine. (Source: Wikipedia).
Let's see how the monkeys do in the next few weeks. If they survive I'll take the same precaution!

Unfortunately, the name is just about the only thing Kagor and Cahors have in common. They're very different wines!
Kagor is normally produced in Russia or Ukraine, it's a red wine with added sugar that people drink the way the French drink grog, for medicinal purposes. It's really quite offensive stuff.
