Maps to the Tombs of the Stars
The wonderful Strange Maps blog recently featured an old map (probably from before WW1, see fragment above) of Paris' most famous cemetery: Père-Lachaise. In those days it was the only way to find the grave of a well-known artist, scientist or politician.

Today, it's a lot easier. Being a major tourist attraction, Père-Lachaise has taken the web approach, complete with panoramic views and an interactive "famous graves" locator. In the image above a little cross marks the grave of Doors singer Jim Morrison. By clicking the cross on the website you can view a photo of the actual grave.
