    French concept car gets nearly 9,000 miles per gallon

    microjoule.jpg
    The Microjoule is the most fuel efficient vehicle on the planet. The single-seat racer, developed by students from the French Technical School St. Joseph La Joliverie, gets 8,923 miles out of a gallon (3 793 km/liter). Since 1992 the Microjoule has won the Shell Eco Marathon every single time, and has broken the world record 6 times. It looks to win once again in the May 2008 edition of the race.

    …and somebody please tell me WHY for the past 15 YEARS this technology has been squandered on silly nerd race marathons instead of making forward progress into global-wide consumer use…? 9000 miles/gallon — fill your 15 gallon tank when you purchase your vehicle and never have to buy gas again.

    Stupid f*cking humans. We as a species deserve every hell we bring on ourselves.

    @listerart:
    the reason they (the car companies) did not release this technology is because all of the oil companies would go broke.

    ah the oil companies, all they care about is money. because of them we dont have electric cars (or at least many) the above car, and we have expensive oil, yes i know about the trouble in the mid east, put they put up the prices before the affected shipment arrives, and they dont put it down by the same amount, if at all.

    I came up with a "perpetual motion"engine, only to find out that it had been invented already. Several times in fact (patents only last 20 years). While researching who else had come up with the idea I found an interesting fact. Everyone who has come up with a fuel saving device with economic impact merit, or at least of the free energy variety, is either bought out, DEAD or "disappeared".

    The fact that oil companies get grants to do research studies on where there is oil, from our taxmoney, and they drill in our country for the shit, shouldnt it be cheaper.. even if there are 9000 a gallon cars… someone if stealing from us right under our noses and our government allows it.. jee could they be making money from it??
